Natural Hair on Top Chef

This season of Top Chef boasts its second head of natural hair, Joy Crump. Thus far I haven't been wowed by her performance but there are still many challenges ahead.
Joy Crump
Her predecessor Carla Hall was very impressive, She made it to the top five in her original season, returned for Top Chef All Stars and has gone on to host The Chew on ABC.
Carla Hall
Win or lose booth ladies have beautiful heads of  hair and offered no explanation or excuses for it. I would be curious to know if they were questioned about their ability to "control" their hair in terms of hygiene in food preparation.  in the same way it is often implied and directly stated that natural hair isn't professional.

Shout out to Tiffany Derry, who rocked her season and now hosts her own restaurant themed reality show Hungry Investors. She is often the consulting chef on Bar Rescue.

EcoCo...We love them & they love us

In the past I have always endorsed the use of economic products. I want people to have positive experiences with their hair and cost is a concern. I wrote in the past about my ( and many others) love for V05. I questioned whether or not V05 valued our business.

I believe that EcoCo does value the business of its natural haired consumers.Their motto: Ecoco, Inc. is a global innovator in beauty products. We offer a truly multicultural approach to the science of hair care. Initially. many praised EcoStyler Gel but wished it was more moisturizing, many bloggers and vloggers suggested adding oils. EcoCo responded by introducing a line of gels with added olive oil and argan oil. The natural hair world rejoiced. Then those with still dry hair lamented that it was not a pudding. Many make your EcoStyler gel into a custard blogs and vlogs followed. EcoCo responded by creating a line of custards based on their oil infused gels.

This smells great too.

I think this is a clear indicator that EcoCo values and responds to what they see as their core consumers, us. This brand is widely available at most drug and grocery stores and is economically priced. It is a winner on many fronts.

Puff Cuff Hair Clamp Review

I was contacted by the maker of the Puff Cuff to see if I was interested in reviewing their product. I read all the information and watched the informative video: here Hellz yeah! I was interested in something that could hold all my hair with out squeezing my brain or warping the life out of a headband.

Product Name: Puff Cuff Hair Clamp

Size: 5 inches wide (available in smaller sizes)

Product Claims: It works with every type of coily hair, from kinky to curly, to help you create many beautiful hairstyles without cinching your hair to the smallest point of resistance and damaging it.

Price: $11.99 at Amazon (mine was free for review)

Review:  I really like the Puff Cuff! It was so comfortable! I felt like I had nothing in my hair. It was easy to close and open. I found one strand of hair in it after wearing it for 6 hours.I was complimented on my hair each day. ( I tried it a different way each day for a week) I would absolutely say it lived up to its claims (for my hair). Initially, I thought the price point was high but after wearing it I want to burn my pantyhose leg and all my stretched headbands. I'm cheap but I'm willing to pay for comfort.

I think this would be ideal for young girls with lots of and/or thick hair . It would allow them to independently style their own hair.

Lesson Learned: 1.)Honest companies want you tell people you got their product for free to review. They also will offer a giveaway without you having to ask. :D 2.) Don't rave about a hair product unless you are willing to take it out and show people at your job.

The Puff Cuff Hair Clamp Giveaway will start next week!!!

Toji Pure Density Hair Nutrition (Vitamins)

I was contacted by toji to ask if I would review their Pure Density hair vitamins. I recieved one 90 day supply for myself as well as one to give away. I was totally solicited and got everything for free. I will begin using these on Jan. 13. FOllowing my ninety day evaluation I will give a review and offer the second set for giveaway.

They arrived packaged exactly as shown.  My only concern is the "proprietory" formula because these things are usuallly not defined or listed with the other ingredients. The supplement facts are below:

Wish me luck and alert me of any red flags you see. :)

*Update: 90 days is too long to wait. I will do they giveaway in 30 days. :D
