I love this post. It is funny how people think those with natural hair are obsessed when in reality they are just passionate. When I was a permy that is when I was hair obsessed. I based my life and my activities around my hair: exercise, swimming, going out, etc all had to be done at prime times when I get my hair immediately laid back down.
I have no idea how I found your blog, but this just touched me in a way I can't even descirbe. Funny, because I'm a white girl from Europe.
My hair is not naturally straight, so I'm allways obsessing with straightening, backcombing and fixing it. I skip breakfast to have more time in front of the mirror in the morning, and I have a minor heart attack every time I run out of hairspray. It's crazy. Girls here in Norway spend a lot of money on hair care and especially extensions, just to end up looking like clones. I don't wanna be a part of that.
Lately, I've been thinking about getting dreadlocks, just to see what happens when I no longer have the opportunity to spend hours on combing and styling my hair. I wanne get in touch with myself and find out how people will approach me when I don't look like I "should". Just see what happens. Thank you so much for your video, it really got me thinking.
