Disney's High School Musical Star is now natural

Being a teacher, I am unwillingly aware of all three of Disney's High School Musical movies. The "token" African-American girl character is played by actress Monique Coleman. I assumed that her flowing weave was attached to relaxed hair.

As see in HSM

I was wrong she apparently was covering a lush head of natural hair with the wig/weaves.

I think she looks much better.

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil

I promised in exchange for the generous 32 ounce jar I was given by Tropical Traditions I would write my impressions of their products effect on my product. All customer feedback has been positive but notably a regular customer noticed the change and sent the following tweet:
HI! Did you change something in the vanilla butter? Its even more awesome, more vanilla scent, smoother. I love it!!

So their was a notable change in texture, I changed my method of scent that was noticed as well.

Thank you TT, I may be forced to continue using your product. :)

Need styling ideas?

As a teacher, I am privileged to see many little natural heads regularly. I often take inspiration from my little charges styles for myself. For those of you who aren't surrounded by small girls all day I offer these two blogs for styling ideas. I was surprised to find The Story Of A Princess And Her Hair a Caucasian mom who does detailed and intricate braid and two strand twist styles on her daughters hair complete with adorable accessories. I admit I had bought into the stereotype that only people of color styled their childrens' hair regularly. I was wrong. In the same vein is, Beads,Braids and Beyond!. This blog not only showcases beautiful styles on children but also product reviews on many familiar and popular products for natural hair. I know we are adults but you may find inspiration in these picture-rich blogs.
