A little off hair...

Being a new mother, I am often found watching my her favorite children's shows. I recently began following a children show on twitter called Bino and Fino. The show is produced in Nigeria and I was initially attracted by the title character Fino's cute afropuffs.

Fino's hair is adorable.

Here are the shows claims:

Bino and Fino is the wonderful educational Nigerian cartoon show about a brother and sister who live in a modern day city in sub- Saharan Africa. In each episode Bino and Fino, with the help of their friend Zeena the Magic Butterfly and their family, discover and learn things about the world.The show is for children mainly between the ages of 3 and 6.

It was created to provide more animated children’s content for the kids around the world to enjoy. As a parent, wherever you are in the world it is hard to find genuine, quality African made educational media that show wonderful aspects of African culture to your children. This is especially so when it comes to cartoons which kids are captivated by. Africa is telling its story. Bino and Fino will help tell that story to children.

Fino also stars on a Seasme Street style I love my hair t-shirt.

The Bino and Fino merchandise is adorable as well.

I watched a free preview episode and found it delightful the characters were attractive and just as informative and engaging as Dora or Diego. If Bino and Fino were available on television in the US I would love to let my little KnapsGirl watch it.

Hello Kitty's Afro making another appearence

Since I am a HUGE hello kitty fan, I definitely love when I see her rockin' afro puffs or an afro. I found this cute t-shirt on one of my favorite sites, JapanLA, and wanted to share it.

Coach Poppy - Poppin' Curly Puffs

This is the other Knapsgirl :). The one with a shopping sickness

I'm already a huge fan of Coach's new Poppy line and was presently surprised to see some of the new products featuring a girl with curly puffs. I think these are uber cute!

I like to point out when the trend's are swingin' back the natural way (as they always do).

Hopefully maybe even Coach will help some young girls embrace their natural curls. ♥

Today's Hair

Style: Cornrows into AfroPuff

Approximate time to complete: 45 mins (depends on how fast you braid)

Products Used: Burdock Root Butter Cream, Lil Better Butter, EcoStyler Olive Oil Gel

Tools Used: My fingers, rattail tooth comb, ponytail holder

Reason for style: I've been practicing my braiding!
(I plan to take down the puff and do two strand twist in back.)

Lessons Learned: I can cornrow.

But anyway, I work in Telecommunications so I keep up to date about a lot of new services and I wanted to sign-up for Clear when it's offered in Detroit. My co-worker picked up a pamphlet he saw while out of town for clear and it has cartoons illustrating its service compared to hair on your head.

Reason for style: I wanted a puff but needed a change.

Lessons Learned: The smallest change makes a difference.
