Thank God It's Natural Product Review

I was sent three sample sized products from the Thank God Its Natural line to review. This product line is from the author of the book Thank God I’m Natural: The Ultimate Guide to Caring for and Maintaining Natural Hair by Chris-Tia Donaldson.

Wild Lemongrass Olive oil Soap with Shea butter

If you enjoy the scent of lemongrass (I do) this soap smell heavenly. It is uber moisturizing and makes a luxurious scented lather. The soap is Paraben and Phtlate free, vegan, not tested on animals and comes in Ginger Peach and White Tea and Hibiscus scents

I give this soap 5 of 5 Knaps, without knowledge of pricing.

Organic Shea Butter

This product is exactly what is says shea butter. It has no added scent, so has the characteristic smokey, earthy scent of shea. The butter appears whipped or blended in some way that renders the shea creamy and easily handled. The source of the shea butter is a cooperative helping empower women with competitive wages.

I give it 4 of 5 Knaps because I like my product scented and wtihout knowledge of pricing.

Peppermint Lip Balm with Shea Butter

The peppermint is cooling and refreshing but I found the balm a bit waxy. I had just tested a similar product that comes in a pot and found it much more moisturizing by comparison.

I give it 3 of 5 Knaps, without knowledge of pricing.

They are currently having a sale on the shea butter:

Shea Butter: White and Yellow

I thought I'd share this short and informative video because people often seem confused about the differences between the different colors of shea butter.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion. :)

More praise for Lil Better Butter!

So I moisturized my scalp and hair with the Better Butter and later went on a date. Tell me why dude would not stop talking about how great my hair smelled. Plus he kept playing with my twist and even rubbed his face in my hair. So apparently Better Butter is also an aphrodisiac =)

Pretty Curls-Citrus Spice Shea Butter

I was kindly sent a free full size sample from Pretty Curls. :)

I am more a coconut and vanilla scent girl but for free I can be Citrus Spice.

Pretty Curls is in the U.K. so it comes in 100ml and 200ml sizes.

Scent:
Pure Shea with spicy oranges and lemons mixed with cool coconut and lavender to uplift your senses. We made this for you to use first thing in the morning. The smell lingers all day while keeping your curls bouncy and moisturized. A little goes a long way so it will go that extra mile.**Absolutely True**
Price:
6 pounds( remember the U.K.) They take PayPal.

This stuff is fabulous. It is soft, creamy, infused with essential oils for healthy hair and fragrance. I applied it on wet hair following a co-wash. First I applied Burdock Root Butter Cream then the Pretty Curls. It smells wonderful and sealed all the moisture into my hair. I could go without moisturizing for at least two days, My hair felt luscious and smelled heavenly. I want to try their other scents!
Additionally, I used it on my skin with similar success.

I'm not dead...

Is Monica Dead? She hasn't made a youtube vid in a while. She hasn't posted to the Knaps blog.

NO.

Monica has been hard at work!

1) made a fresh batch of shampoo,
2)scented my own shea butter
3) made and used homemade flax seed gel
4) Opened a store selling Knaps items

The shampoo is old news and all the info is in a previous blog. :) I scented my shea butter vanilla!! A tutorial vid is here: Scenting Shea Butter

I made Flax Seed gel! I checked other blogs and forums and came up with this recipe:

1 c water
3 tblsp flax seeds (whole)
1 tsp shea butter
1/3 tsp coconut oil
scented oil of your choice

Boil the flax seeds while whisking for 10 minutes. Strain seeds from gel. Whisk in oils while gel is warm. Let gel cool and thicken.

This makes just a few ounces which I though was perfect for a sample size. You can add citric acid as a preservative or it must be refrigerated.

**pictures coming soon**

An finally and most important we opened a store!!! If you like the Knaps girls you will love the items. I am also open to any suggestions on items. :D
